Why is my cup leaking?
So I decided to try a menstrual cup a few days ago. At first everything was going well, it went in easily, there were no leaks and I didn’t feel it. Then one day I started leaking and have since been having that problem. It doesn’t feel like it’s opening the way it should anymore and when it does and a seal is formed, I don’t think it’s positioned under my cervix. I checked my cervix the day before my period started and when I checked it again the position changed. What do I do? I’ve already tried twisting it, putting my finger around to check where it is to no avail and I really want my cup to work :/
I have a medium-low cervix, my bladder is not sensitive, I’m 22 years old and have no children. I’m also slightly active. The cup I’ve been using is called twistie on the go and it seems relatively soft.

First of all, congrats on making the switch! …or at least giving it a try 🙂
I had never heard of that cup before, but after looking it up, I do have it on hand under several other names; Blossom, Athena, Dutchess, Flower Pot, Luna Cup, Cali Cup, Vida Cup, Sileu, Fairyfox…and many more.
These are “cheapie” cups that are purchased for pennies and then sold for various amounts around the world. I hope you didn’t spend the $30 they charge on their site 🙁 You can find these for under a dollar.
Anyhow, not to turn this into a “cheapie” lecture….
These cups are normally on the softer side and many have had troubles getting them to open. Between all of those types of cups that I have, they seem to differ in firmness slightly but all still on the softer side.
Since you don’t have a sensitive bladder, you might want to look into a cup that’s more firm. It’ll save you some time and trouble while getting it to open.
With a medium to low cervix, I would stay on the shorter side (or size small) or something that’s bell shaped.
Some cups that you can look into are:
Lena (Original)
Fleur
These two cups are bell shaped with a flared rim. The Lena Original is on the firmer of the two. They also have a “sensivite” version. A cup with a flared rim tend to ride up and sit higher than a “V” shaped cup. This shape may be more comfortable for someone with a medium to low cervix since the base of the cup is rounded and hopefully won’t sit at the opening of your vagina.

Super Jennie small
These cups are also bell shaped, but have a “regular” style rim. For some people, these don’t ride up as much. The Ruby Cup is a short cup to begin with. The LaliCup does have a little more length to it but still has a rounded base.
Yuuki small (Soft version is a medium firm cup. Classic version is the firmest cup on the market. Be careful not to let this one pop open before you’re ready or it might snap at you!)
Lunette
OrganiCup
These cups are all “V” shaped, but the Yuuki small may be short enough. The Lunette and OrganiCup large are on the shorter side compared some of the other “large” size cups on the market.
