Which size after birth but beginners?
Hi, i want to buy my very first cup and i was oriented to get the Saalt Soft size B and the Intimina Lily size B.
I gave birth naturally twice and i think my cervix is usually mid-high, but i don’t have an heavy period and i’m a beginner. Should I try a smaller size or an harder cup??
Hello There!
I know this is a very late reply, but I’ll leave this here just in case someone else is interested.
First, menstrual cups don’t absorb so any size is safe to use in terms of capacity. No matter if you are a heavy bleeder or just experience daily spotting, you can use any size that you’re comfortable with as long as you remove and rinse the cup at least twice a day.
Second, the Lily Cup and the Saalt cups are very different in length and shape. I don’t normally like to suggest the Lily Cup unless the individual knows for certain that they do have a high cervix that stays high. A lot of people who do cervical checks will notice that their cervix changes height at certain times during menstruation. The Lily Cup may end up feeling too long (and uncomfortable) during part of your period.
If you are set on using one of these two cups, I would suggest the large Saalt Cup or their Duo Pack. Even though the large is a shorter cup than the Lily Cup, it can still accommodate a medium-high cervix as well as still feel comfortable if the cervix shifts slightly up or down.
Overall, I feel like beginners have an easier time adjusting to menstrual cups with the Saalt Cup rather than the Lily Cup.
The Lily Cup doesn’t have air holes and can be challenging when trying to get it to open and during removal. Even for experienced users.
Good Luck! <3
