Which mild soap should I get?
Hey,
I am using the Saalt Cup for a while, and when I ordered it I also bought the Saalt Wash. It’s about to end, and i’m not living in a place where I can buy the soap frequently. Shipping is expensive so I cannot buy it that way neither. Which “regular” mild soap is fine? do you know if Johnson’s baby soap is o.k? I’ll leave the link for Johnson’s soap ingredients list below.
Thanks!

I would highly suggest that you aim for organic soaps they are actually milder than regular soaps even milder than Johnsons
Hello!
Any mild, fragrance and oil-free soap should do. Baby soaps are supposed to be gentle and most say that they’re fine to use for a menstrual cup.
Anything that reads “for sensitive skin” is something else you can look for. If a store carries intimate wash like Summer’s Eve, it was made to be safe for use in the sensitive area. However, I would still check the label for heavy fragrance and oils.
Why oil-free – Oils left on the cup can degrade the silicone. They can also build up if not rinsed well.
Why fragrance-free – Fragrances and perfumes can stick to the cup. This can cause irritation inside of the vagina or interfere with the vaginal pH balance and good bacteria.
Just make sure you rinse the cup really well if you need to use soap.
I might also add that a lot of people are very sensitive or allergic to soaps in their genital area and only wash their cup with water. You don’t have to wash the cup with soap every time you remove it. Most people just remove, rinse, and re-insert.
At the end of your period, you can boil the cup if you feel it needs a deep cleaning. Still, no soap needed.
The Saalt site lists a bunch of things that they don’t want you to use on their cup, you might contact them directly to ask what they do suggest. They’re really good with their customer service.
Good Luck <3
