Uncomfortable when using!
I am new to the menstrual cup. I am completely impressed with the women who actually know what direction or size their uterus is!! How do you figure that out?
When I insert, I have to use 2 fingers (Holding it firmly in half) and it’s uncomfortable to shove it up high enough so that it stays out. I have had to take it out so many times because it seems to slide down as I walk and he stem ends up poking out a bit and driving me crazy! It worked only once for me so far, all the other times I have given up. It also hurts slightly during removal.
Help me please!
Hi There!
Welcome to the world of menstrual cups! There is a learning curve to using them, so don’t be discouraged. We all had to figure it what worked for us.
Knowing the position of your cervix can be a big help.
It will give you an idea of which cup might feel more comfortable (low cervix) or be easy to reach (medium/high cervix).
You can make sure that you have positioned the cup right under or right around your cervix.

How to Locate & Measure your Cervix
If your cup is poking out, it may be too long for your anatomy.
One of the very common mistakes that new users make is that they aim their cup straight up – like one would with a tampon. Our cervix is not typically located straight up. Inserting and placing a cup straight up may miss or push your cervix to the side resulting in leaks.
While inserting a cup, it should be aimed down and back towards your tailbone (in a squatting or sitting position).
If the cup isn’t positioned correctly it might not have a good seal and maybe the reason for it sliding down. As stated above, it also might be too long.
