stem hurts
I have used my Diva Cup 2 on and off for a few years. I am 33, with two vaginal births. I think my Diva Cup is perfect at night time, because I do not move much. I am finding that it is easy to insert and remove, it does it’s job and stays in place, for the most part. I have cut the stem as close as I can, however, it is still painful at my vaginal opening, because the stem is firm and hangs out a bit. I can insert farther, without discomfort, (which would suggest that my cervix is not low?) but the cup no longer catches the flow. I would love to find a way to use this during the day, but can not even walk with it inserted without discomfort. Any advice??
Hi Alyssia!
Since you’re already comfortable removing the cup without the stem, you can try turning it inside out. It’s perfectly safe to use it this way if it’s comfortable.
If you’re inserting it higher without it catching any flow, then it might be going next to your cervix into the vaginal fornix (space around the cervix that expands upwards and outwards)
If you would rather search for another cup, the body of the Diva large is 56mm. You will want something shorter than that.
A couple of cups that I would suggest checking out are the EvaCup (Anigan) large, Monthly Cup large, or the LaliCup medium or large.
The EvaCup would be the closest one to the DivaCup in shape and size, but the firmness of the body is a bit softer. It has a wider band for a secondary rim that adds some firmness to the rim to allow it to open easier.
The Monthly Cup also has a softer body, but a firmer rim.
The LaliCup has rounded base and won’t have the point of the “V” to poke you. It’s about medium firmness like the Diva Cup.
All great cups. 🙂

You can sort them from body length – longest to shortest. The EvaCup large should be 54 mm. I’ve already notified the site owners 🙂
