Should I be able to feel my menstrual cup?
Should I be able to feel my cup from the outside? I know this sounds really silly but I can feel it when I wipe when I pee, and I can feel it through the skin around my vagina even when I am standing up. Are they meant to sit this low? I’ve tried multiple times, on multiple period to push it in higher but it won’t go. I’ve never have any problems with tampons and just not sure if this is how menstruated cups are meant to be.
Hello There!
This doesn’t sound silly at all! It’s actually a very common complaint.
Most people don’t like to be able to feel the cup while it’s in use. But, others prefer the stem to stay outside of their bodies.
Either way that you’re comfortable, is correct.
If what you’re feeling is the stem, you can trim it down bit by bit until it’s comfortable but still easy to reach when you need to remove the cup.
If what you’re feeling is the base of the cup (the bottom of the actual collection area) than the cup is likely too long for you.
You mentioned that you’ve tried multiple times to push the cup higher but that it won’t go. This leads me to believe that the cup is too long.
If you would share what cup and size you’re using, I might be able to suggest some other cups that might feel more comfortable. 🙂
