Sex with Ziggy
I have recently begun using Intimina Ziggy Cup – I just want a heads up before I attempt penetrative intercourse.
My partner and I both prefer not to have the blood involvement during in sex. I know the ziggy cup is designed for mess-free period sex, though I want to know if there may still be some amount of excess blood from the vaginal wall?
Is it possible for my partner to push the cup out of place during sex?
Hi There!
It’s always possible that there’s a little excess blood in the vaginal canal. Especially since it seems a lot of people are able to “auto-empty” their menstrual discs when they sit on the toilet without removing it. If you’re one of the ones who can do this, just make sure to wipe the area well or insert it in the shower so you can rinse off as best as you can.
Again, it’s possible for your partner to push the rim just right (or wrong, however you want to look at it), during penetration. Or rather, it’s not impossible. I’m guessing it would depend on the rim & penile placement, and how vigorous the movements are. The thin and flexible reservoir takes the ‘hit’ the most and not the rim.
I have never had any huge messes (with any of the menstrual discs available). At most, just a hint of pink when cleaning up. But, I always empty the disc before any activity.
Chances are probably as little as your partner getting poked in the urethra while using a menstrual cup with a stem during penetration, slim to none.
Good Luck and maybe start slow with low expectations in the disc. Then at least if you do have some leaking, you were expecting it 😛
Have fun!
