Removing my cup hurts
I\’m a virgin and this is my 2nd cycle while using a menstrual cup (everyday of each cycle).
I have no problem inserting my cup and i really only have 1 problem with it: it hurts when i\’m removing it, but it\’s not for the reasons i find on this site or in others (breaking the seal or the urethra) it hurts my hymen (?) and i guess it\’s because my hymen is still intact but whenever I remove it I try to do it in different ways but it hurts every time (sometimes more than others), so i was wondering if you have any tips for for this.
Thank you in advance.
Hello There!
First of all, I want to commend you for giving menstrual cups a try. A lot of ‘virgins’ shy away from trying one because they fear that it won’t work for them or that it will “tear” the hymen.
I’m happy to hear that for the most part, you’re able to use it without any issues. However, pain at any time while using it is a problem 🙁
The only things that I could suggest is to collapse the rim a bit while removing it (like when avoiding the urethra), using a dot of water-based lubricant, or trying a narrower cup.
What cup are you using? I might have some additional thoughts or suggests based that the size and design of that specific cup.
