Old menstrual cup – should i use it or not?
I bought a menstrual cup three years ago and it was the correct size and everything but the silicon was just too hard. It was a mooncup and I studied how to insert it but when I was walking around it just made me feel like I needed to urinate all the time (TMI-sorry). Therefore, I think that I must need a softer/more flexible one but I don\’t know what to do with old one. Is there a way to recycle it like send it back to the manufacturer, I\’m in the UK? I could try using again but I don\’t think anything would have changed and it is quite old.
Hello!
While the MoonCup is a favorite to many, others find the rim just too rigid to insert, wear, and remove comfortably. Feeling the need to urinate more frequently is one of the issues. I would agree that a softer cup or at least one without a bulky rim would be more comfortable in your situation.
If your used cup is in good condition, you might want to check the Menstrual Cup B/S/T pages on FB. There are people there who are comfortable with their cleaning methods that are happy to purchase a cup for a lesser price. It wouldn’t go to waste and you can recoup some of your money back.
If you don’t have FB or rather not take the time to list it, you can visit the Ruby Cup site for instructions on how to recycle your cup. The link for the info form is at the bottom of the Ruby Cup homepage under “Help & useful links”.
Good Luck! 🙂
