My menstrual cup keeps shifting inside me!!
Every time I insert my menstrual cup, I feel it shift inside me. It feels uncomfortable. I especially feel it shift and pop when I lay down. I check when I insert it to see if it’s fully open and it is so that’s not the problem. I don’t understand why it keeps doing that. I need help because it’s so uncomfortable and stops me from sleeping.
Hi There!
Your cup should definitely not be doing that. Snap, crackle, and popping, should be left to our breakfast cereal!
I understand that you’re making sure that it’s open all the way, but is it placed correctly right below or right around your cervix?
Sometimes if we insert the cup completely before allowing it to open, it could push your cervix to the side. It can actually still open, but it won’t be doing its job and it could cause the shift and pop.
Make sure that you’re inserting your cup more back and down towards your tailbone and not straight up, as well.
If you’re doing all of this and it’s still not comfortable, I would suggest a different cup.
If you would like some suggestions, could you tell me what cup you currently have, if you have any other issues with it – too long, hard to reach, too soft, if you know how low/high your cervix is, or if you have any bladder/bowel sensitivity with it, etc.
