my cup feels as if it’s too high up and I’m lossing the stem?
I feel as if me diva cup is too high up and I can barley get the stem when trying to get it out. do I need a new cup? this one was a struggle to get in and is a size small.
Hi There!
While the Diva Cup has a long body, the stem is fairly short. If you are aiming the cup correctly (down and back), it is in the correct position, and you’re still having a hard time reaching it, you might want to consider a cup with both a long body and a longer stem.
Before you run out to buy a new cup, try squatting in the tub during removal. This will automatically make you bear down and bring the base of the cup closer to the vaginal opening. If you have to empty the cup while away from home, you can try scooting back on the toilet and leaning forward to push the cup down.
A few cups to consider:
Diva for reference – 67mm at total length (body & stem) with a 43mm diameter.
Juju Model 3 – This cup is 78mm at total length and is narrower than the Diva Cup with a 40mm diameter.
Lily Cup Original – This cup is 78mm at total length and has a diameter of 40mm.
Casco Cup Small – This cup is 70mm at total length with a 42mm diameter.
The Casco Cup is the most like the Diva Cup in shape and firmness if you want something similar to what you’re used to.
Also, water-based lube will help ease a cup in. I find it best to apply some lube to myself, wash or wipe my hand, and then handle my cup. If not, everything gets too slippery.
I hope this helps. Sorry that I don’t have more tips to make the Diva work out 🙁 If you have any questions about the cups that I listed, I’ll do my best to answer them.
Good Luck!
