Lena vs Saalt
Hey,
I’m thinking about buying a cup and I’ve been researching for a very long time. My cervix is medium/high, 17, extremely active (swim 7 times a week) and a virgin.
Can someone please explain what is the difference between the Saalt and the Lena cup, and maybe what will probably work the best for me?
Thanks
Hi!
Here are the measurements for both sizes of both of the cups for comparison.
Lena Cup
SMALL –
Total Length: 71mm
Without the Stem: 48mm
Diameter: 41mm
Capacity to the Rim: 25ml
LARGE –
Total Length: 71mm
Without the Stem: 52mm
Diameter: 44mm
Capacity to the Rim: 30ml
Saalt Cup
SMALL –
Total Length: 70mm
Without the Stem: 45mm
Diameter: 42mm
Capacity to the Rim: 25ml
LARGE –
Total Length: 70mm
Without the Stem: 52mm
Diameter: 47mm
Capacity to the Rim: 35ml
Both of these are great cups – quality and customer service wise.
But if these are the only two that you want to choose from, I would lean more on the side of the Saalt Cup.
Although the measurements between the cups are similar, bell-shaped cups especially those with a flared rim like the Lena Cup, tend to ride up and sit higher around the cervix. Since you have a medium to a high cervix, this could cause the cup to be difficult to reach. Also, if the cup sits higher, the cervix can sit deeper into the cup and take up some of the capacity. Depending on your flow, this could/would lessen your wearing time significantly.
As for the Saalt Cup, it’s a bit shorter than the average-sized cup out there but it has a regular rim and shouldn’t travel up as high as the Lena. However, it might still be a reach to remove it when you’re cervix is on the high side.
I would suggest the original (firmer) versions of these cups. The rim on both the Lena and Saalt Cups is softer than the body which is usually the other way around with the majority of cups on the market.
Other than that, the silicone and quality feel the same even as if they were created and manufactured by the same companies.
