Leakage issue even after trying everything properly. Very irritating.
So, hi. I’m 21 years old. I’ve been using a cup Pee Safe extra small which is of 15 ml, since the first cup I bought was 25ml and it wasn’t fitting in properly. I try the triangle shape while inserting the cup and it pops open when I insert it inside, later I create suction properly too. But it still leaks every single time. I’ve measured my cervix and I guess it comes like my first knuckle not sure if that’s the cervix I’m a bit confused. It leaks and when I take the cup out it’ll be only filled for about 7 ml and idk why it’s still leaking even after proper insertion and suction. Every single time. Does this mean I should get a bigger size?? Or what should I do please help me. I’ve literally tried everything and it’s my 4th cycle of using it.
Hello There!
There’s a couple of things that might be happening here.
First, are you leaking like you don’t have a cup in, or are you just having some spotting?
If it’s just some spots, try wiping the base and grip rings with a wet wipe or cloth to clean up any excess blood. Sometimes this can give the illusion that you’re leaking from the cup when you actually are not.
Even though I’m an experienced user, if I don’t clean up, the cup will “stamp” a stem mark on my underwear.
When you say “the first knuckle” do you mean the closest knuckle to your fingertip? If that is correct, then this may be the cause of your leakage.
It’s common for a cup to settle around the cervix. This can cause the cervix to sit deep into the cup especially if it is small or short. This can compromise the capacity by displacing blood and cause the cup to leak sooner than expected. A good sign that this might be happening to you is that when you remove the cup, it only has a small amount of blood in it.
All of the cups that I can think of in India are longer than the extra small Pee Safe. If you can find the Mermaid Guppy (for low cervix) or the Merula Original, I think they might be shorter. They have a rounded body that will give you some capacity even if your cervix sits inside of them.
I’m sorry, I don’t have the Pee Safe Cups to compare them to. I have cups that look like the Pee Safe Cups but the measurements don’t match the ones on their website. My small cup has the measurements of their large.
Good Luck! <3
