I haven’t got my period but get brown discharge
Hi. I’m 12 this year and like I keep getting a smudge of brown discharge from my vagina and I haven’t gotten my period. I’m not really sure about how regular it is but I have been getting it for the past 1 day

Brown discharge is very common before a person starts their first period. This can last months before the bright red period blood starts to flow.
*Not months as in it will happen every day for months, but rather that you might see some of the brownish discharge here and there over the next few months.
How long this actually takes, differs for everyone.
When you do get your period it’s likely that it won’t be regular or consistent.
Since the hormones are out of whack and your body might not be ovulating every monthly, your periods might be shorter or longer than 7 days, it might be a light or heavy flow, and it might not come every month.
This can last a couple to a few years. In time, your cycle should become more regular and predictable.
You might start to consider carrying around some pantyliners and looking into menstrual product options.
