Cup plops out during a poo
I feel like my cervix is incredibly deep. I’ve only ever once had the cup absolutely secure but then it was a nightmare to remove.
When it isn’t secure like that one and only time, what happens is every time I go number 2 my cup will shoot out into the toilet.
Is there something I’m doing wrong with inserting. I can’t fit more than one finger up to push it in far enough or turn it to open.
Hi There!
UGH! I can understand your frustration! I would HATE for that to happen to me!
Normally if a cup is sliding or turning on it’s side, it’s because the size is incorrect.
Since you have a high cervix, you’ll probably want a “V” shaped cup for the length.
Firmness is up to you.
If you have a sensitive bladder, you might want something on the softer side. With it being softer, it might be easier for you to depress the side of the cup to insert your finger to check that it’s open as well as when removing it.
If you want something that will open easier on it’s own, you can check into cups that are more firm. However, I would suggest still inserting a finger to be sure that you didn’t push your cervix to the side.
While you have a finger inserted, gently press the base of the cup to the vaginal wall. This might help create a seal/suction instead of pinching the base. Another way that I spin/turn my cup (since I can never spin it from the base as the booklets instruct), I use one finger, press the side of the cup in just a bit and then swipe it with the one finger. This turns my cup.
There are some cups that are the same length between the small and large, like the Diva Cup and Casco Cup. The difference is in the diameter.
If you let me know what cup and size you’re using, and any other addition info that may be helpful like if you have a sensitive bladder, I might be able to suggest a couple cups that might work before for you. 🙂
