Hello,

For the past three months, I have been trying to switch over to using a menstrual cup to no avail. I have not been able to get in it at all, regardless of whatever type of fold that I try. Lately, I have been trying the push down fold (which I heard was best suited for beginners), but I still cannot insert my cup. I have tried inserting my cup in various angles, with lubrication (water, not actual lube yet), in the shower, etc. None of these methods have worked. I know I am capable of inserting one of my fingers into my vagina; and I have even utilized my finger as a guide to insert my cup. Again, it did not go in. Each time I try to poke around and insert it, it only causes me pain (not a lot of pain, but definitely some).

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. If my finger can fit inside smoothly, shouldn’t my cup do the same? There is no way a menstrual cup can be too big for me, right? I should also put it out there that I am a virgin and have been a pad user since my first period. I never tried tampons, so I may be quite unfamiliar with my anatomy.

I REALLY want to be able to use a menstrual cup. It has so many benefits and I don’t want to give up on it. 🙁

Any advice is appreciated!

Thank you.
