You can wash your menstrual cup with a gentle soap and water during your monthly use of it. However for sterilization you should clean it well and then sterilize it as directed (by the user guide that came with your specific brand of menstrual cup.) This is typically boiling it or microwaving it- if your menstrual cup came with a special microwave safe cup. Be sure to check the manual that came with the purchase of your cup to not damage your cup by sterilizing it by an unsafe method.
