Hello I am a 16 year old girl who’s had her period for almost 5 years. Lately my period has been late, it’ll usually be 31 days before my next cycle but last time it was 36 and today my cycle is also 36 days. My period has been late for 5 days now and I want to know what’s going on. I have engaged in intercourse about 3 weeks ago but we used a condom and he pulled out and also didn’t cum. A few hours After we did it I noticed brown discharge in my underwear which wouldn’t appear till recently 10 days ago. This brown discharge lasted about two days. I have never spotted before my periods so this was very new to me. Today while masturbating I found a strange type of discharge on it, it was white and had a very cottage cheese type texture. Like I’ve mentioned before I’ve yet to get my period and the chances of me being pregnant are low considering the methods we used. Sorry for the long read I’m very stressed out and I need answers. Thank you to anyone reading this

First of all, I would suggest taking a pregnancy test to definitely rule that out. Even if you don’t think there was a possibility.
Since you’re still in your teens your hormones are all out of whack and it can fluctuate for at least the next few years. It’s normal to experience brownish discharge or have irregular periods including skipping a month or two or even longer. Some people have irregular periods all their lives. However, if your period is normally regular every month and suddenly stops for three or more months, I would suggest visiting a clinic or doctor.
There are many other things that can cause a missed period whether you’re a teen or not.
Stress – Sex can be stressful and worrying about your period is another stressor! Travel, school, friends, parents, partners…etc.
Starting or stopping a diet, starting or stopping exercising, significant weight loss or gain, medications, and several other things. If you’ve experienced anything out of the ordinary of your everyday life and routine it could cause you to have a late or missed period.
As for the “cottage cheese” discharge, that’s normally a characteristic of a yeast infection. You might also experience itching, redness, or burning at the vaginal opening. A yeast infection is an overgrowth of fungus in the vagina when the good bacteria or pH balance is thrown off.
This is not considered a sexually transmitted infection.
If this is your first time experiencing a yeast infection, I would suggest seeing a clinic or doctor. They will prescribe or advise an over the counter antifungal vaginal cream or suppository to treat it.
Good Luck! <3
