2017’s Top 10 Pee Funnels
(Female Urination devices) Is it Worth a Go?

It’s a common but unpleasant event that most of us put out of our minds when we’re not faced with it: Using a public restroom that is, shall we say, less than hygienic. Let’s face it; there are few things more disgusting than having to brave the port-a-potty at a music festival. Coming in a close second is a gas station toilet on a road trip. Public restrooms at busy big-box stores also tend to be scary places.

Stand Up to Gross Restrooms

This is where female urinary devices, also known as FUDs, or pee funnels, can really save the day. These items are a well-kept secret of female campers because they let you go #1 without having to drop your pants completely. Without these devices that let you pee standing up, women have to wander very far away from camp to get the privacy they need. With an FUD., since you can actually “go” while standing up, you experience the same “go anywhere” convenience that men enjoy.

Not Just for Campers

However, these items aren’t just for campers. When you use them in public restrooms, or any restroom, you don’t have to even come near the toilet seat, let alone sit on one that hundreds of women have sat on before you.

Might Seem Strange, but Make Perfect Sense

Before you say yuck, consider this: When you have an FUD in your purse, you won’t have to pre-clean a nasty toilet seat in a club or at a concert or try to put down a seat protector that keeps falling off before you manage to sit down. There’s also no need to test the strength of your thigh muscles with heroic feats of above-the-seat hovering. Get an FUD and don’t worry about those things ever again.

These items might seem weird if you’ve never heard of them before, but they actually take away a lot of the “yuck” factor involved in using public restrooms. World travelers really love these devices, too.

Who Can Use a Pee Funnel?

Anyone who doesn’t have access to a clean restroom will appreciate the freedom they can get from pee funnels. Bicyclists, boaters, campers, fishers, members of the military, hikers, horseback riders, hunters, music festival goers, marathon runners, and members of the military all use FUDs. Pregnant women, road trippers, athletes, transgender persons, world travelers, and truck drivers all benefit from this invention.

Some FUDs are disposable, others you can keep and reuse. Some serve as funnels that let you go standing up; others will actually capture and solidify any liquid into a gel that you then throw away.

Anyone who uses public restrooms or doesn’t have access to traditional or sanitary places to “go” is bound to appreciate these personal hygiene items.

Our advice:

Practice using your pee funnel at home once or twice before using it on the road (or the trail). Trying it out in the shower is generally ideal. It can take a little time to get used to going while standing up.

Disposable vs. Reusable Pee Funnels: How to Choose?

If you’re looking to experience the freedom and comfort that an FUD can provide, why not get one today? Here’s a little guide to help you choose.

Disposables:

  • Typically cost less up front
  • Store flat, making them easy to carry
  • Save time since you don’t need to rinse them

Reusables:

  • Can save money over time
  • Can be more comfortable due to design and materials used
  • Have superior designs for a more consistent, leak-free experience

Final Say…

Typically, if you only need a pee funnel for a one-time event, like a sporting event, camping trip or visit abroad, buying a disposable pack is probably the way to go. However, if you are planning to use your pee funnel at home because of a medical condition, such as bad knees, then a reusable item would be the smarter choice since you can just wash it and reuse and save money over time.

If you aren’t sure if you’ll like using an FUD, trying disposables make sense although you can also try out one of the less expensive reusable funnels. Disposable pee funnels are also a good choice if you want an FUD you can tuck into your purse to take with you when you go out clubbing.
